Thank you for the very warm welcome. The hosts have gone the extra mile in ensuring that their guests have the best stay possible. A vase of beautiful roses on the table, coffee, tea, milk and delicious biscuits on arrival- even dressing gowns!
The cottage was superbly equipped with very high quality fixtures and fittings, fabulously clean with comfy beds with gorgeously soft bedding.
Oakdean cottages are situated in the most picturesque corner of the Ribble Valley with scenic walks on the doorstep and fabulous places to visit all around.
We have to come back- we didn’t have time to sample the BBQ in the Summer House, or relax outside in the sunshine.
It’s a perfect place to stay!
Fantastic. My children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nephew and partners took over all cottages, for my wedding, plus I and bridesmaids got ready there. Wow couldn’t have been more perfect from detail to attention through to accommodating in every way.
Nothing was too much for Ian and Sue. Truly perfect, yet discreet hosts.
This made for a perfect weekend and I suspect the cottages will be a popular place, if we can’t accommodate at ours, in fact pretty sure they’ll all have a preference for the cottages!

Our second visit and just as special. The property and grounds are immaculate. The location is lovely with a walk to Dean Clough reservoir from the property. Wonderfully helpful and friendly owners but never intrusive. Thanks to everyone for making this such a special and tranquil place. We will be back!

What a joy it was to stay here.
Ian & Sue, and Anna the Property Manager, were a delight to deal with; they made everything - enquiries, booking, arrival and departure - incredibly easy and ‘seamless’. Northern hospitality at its best!
The cottage was wonderful; positioned in idyllic surrounds, it would have been easy to sit and relax in the perfectly manicured outdoor setting for the entire time, and conclude the day with a BBQ
But we had things to do!
We couldn’t have asked for more - the Cottage was generously & tastefully furnished and we appreciated the nod to high-tech (the management of property features, TV accessories and slick property entry and exit). The kitchen had everything we needed for a self sufficient stay and appreciated the high quality appliances and generous stock of utensils.
Couldn’t rate our stay more highly and would unreservedly recommend to any family, friend or colleague planning to stay in the region.
Our first visit to Calder cottage and hope to return. The cottage is beautiful and so clean we were very impressed by our experience staying there. The property is very well equipped and has a decent patio area with table and chairs plus an umbrella , patio doors open out from the sitting room onto the patio. We decided to sleep in the smaller bedroom with twin beds as thought it would be cooler as the weather was so hot. The beds were very comfortable and certainly suitable for adults. Ian and Sue were so helpful, we would recommend staying here , just perfect.

Just returned from 4 nights stay in Calder cottage and can wholeheartedly recommend these cottages. In such a beautiful area of Lancashire, so peaceful, the cottages have everything you need and are pristine clean. As hosts, it is easy to see that Sue & Ian have a lot of pride in the cottages. This was our second visit to Oakdean cottages; the first time in Hodder cottage and this time in Ribble cottage. Both cottages are immaculately kept with everything in them needed for a comfortable stay. Sue and Ian are both friendly and they made sure we had everything we needed. The location of the cottages is just beautiful, being out in the country with lovely views, yet convenient for us visiting family in Blackburn.

We have just returned from Ribble Cottage after a five night stay. The cottage was in a immaculate condition and within minutes of glorious countryside. The hosts, Sue and Ian are a lovely couple, who clearly take great pride in their cottage/s and maintain them to the highest of standards. There is very little in the cottage that hasn’t been catered for. We took up friends from Amersham, who initially were only staying for three nights, but eventually opted to stay a fourth - such was their enjoyment of their stay. You are surrounded by rolling countryside and there is a pub just minutes walk away. All in all, this is a fabulous place to stay. I would highly recommend.
