Superb!!

My group of school friends and I have had another wonderful stay in your cottages. We go away together once or twice a year and have stayed in some gorgeous places but we agree that Oakdean Cottages are the best. Beautiful fixtures and fittings in the cottages, immaculately clean and set amidst some fantastic scenery.
Thank you.

Wonderful

We really enjoyed our stay in Hodder Cottage at the end of August with Mum.
We have stayed here a few times now, the accommodation and location is perfect.
The cottage is always immaculately clean and the open plan layout works really well. The patio area and gardens are lovely to sit out and relax in which Mum really enjoys.
Thank you to Ian, Sue and Anna for the warm welcome and looking after us during our stay.

Consistently Perfect

Our 6th stay in 4 years in Calder Cottage. Hard to say something different. Each time we are met with great hosts, immaculate cottage and equally well maintained secure grounds. A peaceful oasis.

Fabulous Stay

I grew up in the Ribble Valley (Mitton), so finding Oakdean Cottages was like a dream come true. Although my husband and I now live in Canada we try to visit family every few years. We stayed in Ribble cottage twice this summer (5 days in July) as a couple, and (6 days in August) with my 84 year old mother. The cottage is quiet and secluded, with ample parking and the countryside is stunning (even if I am a little biased). Whalley is a beautiful town with Tudor houses on the Main Street. In addition, the Abbey is worth a visit too. Clitheroe is a nice town and worth a visit. Take a walk up to the castle.

The cottage interior and exterior have been well-thought out, and the gardens are beautifully kept. The owners keep the cottages in pristine condition. When you arrive you will find milk, orange juice, tea, coffee, biscuits and sweets. The beds are comfortable and high quality linen is provided. The cottage includes a fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, ironing board etc. All you will need for a comfortable stay. The owners are extremely pleasant and co-operative, nothing is too much trouble. We won’t hesitate to book at Oakdean Cottages for our next visit in Lancashire. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Excellent place, lovely people and great location

I stayed in Calder Cottage for a week at the beginning of August 2023 using it a base for a short walking holiday. Based on my experience I would highly recommend it. Initial contact and the booking process was simple, smooth and efficient. As for the cottage is built and equipped to a very high standard with a spacious kitchen with all you would need for self catering, milk, orange juice, biscuits and sweeties also provided.

The cozy living room is a perfect place to relax (and since I was ‘rained out’ one day I used it a lot). The living room leads, via French windows to a small, private patio area (with gas BBQ) which is a pleasant place to sit with a cup of tea (or something stronger!).There is a spacious main bedroom with a comfy bed and plenty of storage for clothes etc., another smaller room with twin beds and, finally, a good bathroom with a power shower over the bath.

The location is very handy for local walks and attractions and is so quiet and peaceful - Whalley is a nice small town with plenty to see and do and Clitheroe is well worth a visit too. I walked between some of the picturesque villages along the River Ribble Way and found the local public transport handy and frequent enough.

Stunning Accommodation

We were a family of 4 adults and 2 teens that were fortunate to spend five nights at Hodder Cottage this past July. Although the weather wasn't too kind during our stay, we were very happy with the space, amenities and cleanliness of our rental. It's first class in every way. Lots of thought has gone into the design of the interior and the outside space is peaceful and secluded. We've rented a number of properties over the course of our travels in the UK, US and Canada and have to say that our Oakdean Cottage is probably number 1. We loved the short walk down the hill to the pub (The Lord Nelson) with its friendly atmosphere and superb food, not forgetting the cute house dogs! The scenery around the Ribble Valley is classic British countryside. Having the comfort of Hodder Cottage after a busy day out was like home from home. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped, the beds were comfortable and all the linens were spotless and of excellent quality. There was nothing to fault at all. We would highly recommend anyone to book with confidence.

Perfect for families

If you’re looking for a hassle-free, beautiful place to stay with young children, Oakdean cottages is the place to be. Everything we needed for our 1-year-old son and four-year-old daughter was set up and spotlessly clean when we arrived - travel cot, high chair, bath seat and even toys and colouring books. Sue, Ian and Anna anticipated our every need - so lovely to arrive to after a long journey. Thank you! We can’t wait to come back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
